Guitarist and composer Michal Pavlíček (14.2.1956) is one of the prominent personalities of the czechoslovak musical scene. Before the star of his career as a rock musician he studied classical guitar. Meanwhile he graduated from Pragues's Film Academy. Since the eighties he was active as a guitarist, composer and arranger in several wellknown czechoslovak rock groups (for instance Stromboli, Prague Selection etc.) and he participated in the production of forty different albums. He is the author of musical scores in ten feature pictures, thirty documentary films and several theater plays (for instance Minotaurus - Laterna Magica, Strange Pleasure of Living - Slovak National Theatre). Together with Michael Kocáb he composed music for Roundhouse in the World Exhibition Expo '86 Vancouver. Michal Pavlíček is the author of the music presented in the Czechoslovak pavilion Expo '92 Sevilla.

1987 - the Golden note - appreciation of musical critics, the Golden album - for album of Prague Selection
1988 - the best guitarist of the year
1991 - album Prague Selection was appreciated as the second best czechoslovak album in the last twenty years
